If you want to meet with your counselor, please remember to complete the REQUEST TO SEE COUNSELOR FORM. Counselors will call students down within two school days.
Did you know that we have a “Care Closet”? Any student needing basic care items (soap, toothpaste/brushes, deodorant, school supplies, etc) can check the box on the form, and your counselor will call you down so you can look through the items.
If your family is in need of a Thanksgiving meal this season, please complete an application through the school of your youngest child in MVCSC as soon as possible. If your youngest child is in high school, please complete this application form by next Wednesday, October 9th. If you'd like a paper copy of the application you can pick one up in the counseling center. For any questions please reach out to Mrs. Crow at lindsey.crow@mvcsc.k12.in.us.
Tips from your counselors! Each month around school, students will see posters regarding a new topic with helpful tips and links. This month, we are sharing TIPS FOR ANXIETY (see below).

Weighted Grades - Approved courses within the MV curriculum will be eligible for a weighted grade status, including Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, Honors, and 3rd-year World Language courses. Students can apply for approval to take dual credit courses from approved post-secondary institutions. Those approved courses will be eligible for a weighted grade status. Students only receive weighted credit if they take the corresponding AP exam and/or sign up for the dual course enrollment through the corresponding post-secondary institution. The weighted grades are used to determine grade point average and class rank. Grades earned by students are the grades reflected on the transcript. Weights fall into the following levels, depending on the course taken and grade earned:
Level 1 (+.50) All MV Honors and 3rd-Level World Language courses with a C or higher will be increased by .5 GPA points.
Level 2 (+1.0) All qualifying Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Courses with a C or higher will be increased by 1.0 GPA points.

Remember to check the SCHOLARSHIP PAGE frequently! We are constantly adding new scholarships we learn about! It is quiet right now, but as the year progresses, more will be added!
Beginning in late August/early September, counselors will meet with each senior individually for their senior meeting. This is a formal meeting to discuss their credits, post-secondary plans, and the next steps they need to take.
