Throughout the year the MVHS Counseling Center receives notification for local and national scholarships in addition to specific scholarships for colleges/universities. Please visit this page regularly for updated scholarship postings. For specific information or questions, please contact your guidance counselor.  

 

Tri Kappa Scholarship

Greenfield Upsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa, a service sorority, is seeking Hancock County applicants for local scholarships to be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year. A total of $5000 in scholarships will be awarded. 

Eligibility criteria include: 

  1. Enrollment full time as a senior at one of four Hancock County high schools with plans to graduate in Spring 2024

  2. US citizen and resident of Indiana within the jurisdiction of Greenfield Upsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa

Walter P. and Virginia Worland Scholarship

A local scholarship for MVHS students who are interested in furthering their studies in Trade & Technology is now available.

Future Teacher Scholarship

The Hancock County Retired Teachers Association is offering a $1000
future educator scholarship to a Hancock County high school senior who
has chosen to major in education with the intention of becoming a
teacher.

The Debbie Plank Psi Iota Xi Music Scholarship

For the purpose of stimulating continuing studies in the field of music, the Alpha Phi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority is pleased to award the Debbie Plank Music Scholarship to an outstanding senior of Mt. Vernon High School.

This scholarship is open to all graduates from MVHS who have at least a "B" accumulative average.

MV Optimist Club Scholarship

The MV Optimist Club offers scholarships to current year graduates of Mt. Vernon High School.  The dollar value of the scholarship will be announced by the Director of Counseling when this application is distributed. 

Any current year graduate, including mid-year graduates of Mt. Vernon High School, Fortville, Indiana, who seek financial assistance to pursue post-secondary education or training at an appropriately accredited university, college, or other training institution, may apply.

From all the applicants, the committee will select an unidentified number for interview.  Interviews will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at MVHS. 

Completed applications (Parts I & II) must be submitted to Mrs. Fleming in the Mt. Vernon High School Counseling Center by 3pm on April 5, 2024.

2024 Indiana APWA Scholarship

The Indiana Chapter of the American Public Works Association is sponsoring a scholarship program for candidates pursuing a degree in related Public Works fields. Such fields would include Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Municipal Planning, Public Administration,or Public Works/Municipal Operations and Fleet Management among others.  

The degree may be through a university or technical school course of study.  The scholarship awards $1000.00 annually for 4 years provided that the student demonstrates continued progress toward a public works field degree.

Kyle Harrop Memorial Scholarship 

Students planning to attend Purdue University in Fall 2024 and participated in academic competitions during high school may qualify to apply for this scholarship.  The scholarship will be a one-time award of $1,000 paid in late May.

Greenfield Elks Scholarship 2024

Greenfield Elks #1720 will be issuing at least one scholarship to a Hancock County Graduating Senior.  The scholarship recipient will be selected on the basis of community service and financial need.

Indiana Association for the Gifted Scholarship

Indiana Association for the Gifted has established a scholarship program for high ability students who will enter college the following fall. IAG awards three merit scholarships in the amount of $2000. Students may apply for all scholarships for which they are eligible.

The Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a life-changing scholarship that provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.  This would provide  the recipients with the opportunity to graduate from college debt-free.

Summit Salon Academy "Get Inspired" Scholarship

Planning a career in the beauty industry after high school? We offer scholarships for graduating High School seniors that covers $3,000 of your tuition.

Applications are due by April 30th, 2024 and are awarded for the July 15th, 2024 Cosmetology Course.

Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship

This year the Indiana Sheriffs' Association will be awarding forty (40) $750 scholarships to qualified students who are pursuing an education and career in the criminal justice field.

Genevieve Roberts Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for a student to further their education. The scholarship(s) is awarded based upon various criteria that reflect the values and purposes of Hancock Co. Farm Bureau Inc. and recognizes excellence in community affairs and citizenship activities. Please provide sufficient details and information about your qualifications to give the judges a clear picture of your future plans.

Hancock Co. Farm Bureau will award up to 5 scholarships to students. A winner will be selected from each participating high school including homeschool. An overall winner will be selected from the 5 and he or she will be awarded a $2000 check made out to the school of their choice. The remaining school winners will be awarded a $500 check made out to the school of their choice.

Hancock County Farm Bureau Young Farmers Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by Hancock County Farm Bureau. We
have established this scholarship as a way for Farm Bureau to support
our local youth who have been active participants in 4-H, or FFA, and
their community. Two chosen winners will be awarded a $1000
scholarship to be used in furthering their education. The winner will
receive a check made out to the applicants school of choice.

All applicants must have their completed application emailed to
debi@hillfarmsllc.com no later than March 1, 2024.

Student-View Scholarship

The 2024 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering over $14,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school.  

All Indiana seniors who apply for this scholarship will automatically be entered into the drawing for the new $500 Indiana Senior Scholarship.

FCCLA Scholarships

Students who are members of FCCLA  (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) may apply for several scholarships including those involved in culinary and hospitality fields.

People Helping People Scholarship

Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union that created a scholarship to help reduce the financial burden of pursuing post-secondary education. 

This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors and continuing education students planning to pursue post-secondary education in the fall of 2024.

Ivy Tech Presidential Honors College Scholarship

Starting this year, students who apply to and are accepted into the Ivy Tech Honors College may also apply for this substantial scholarship which awards students $3,000 per year, renewable for up to two years.

For 2024 graduates enrolling in Ivy Tech this fall, students must apply for the Presidential Honors College Scholarship by June 30, 2024.

Greenfield Area Soccer Club Scholarship

Greenfield Area Soccer Club has a scholarship available for graduating students of Hancock County who are presently a club member or have been in the past.  Student must put monies towards an education at a college/university, trade or technical school. Special consideration will go to applicants who participated in recreational soccer at GASC for a minimum of 2 years/4 seasons.

Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship of up to $2,500 for college or post-secondary technical schooling is awarded to an Indiana High School Senior(s) whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer.

Community Foundation of Hancock County Scholarships

CFHC is a nonprofit organization that words with community partners to build a future for Hancock County, Indiana.  More than $500,000 will be awarded in scholarships in 2024!

McCordsville Police Department Scholarship

One $1,000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships will be awarded to Hancock County, Vernon Township residents pursuing careers connected to the criminal justice system.

2024 TUBC High School Scholarship

Tricoci University's Annual High School Scholarship application is now open for submissions.  They award one $3500 scholarship per Tricoci University campus and there are 15 campuses across Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Big Future Scholarship

No essay, no minimum GPA or test score, no citizenship requirements. Just follow the steps for chances to win! The more steps you complete and earlier you start, the more chances you have to win. If you win, your scholarship can be used at any two- or four-year college. If you don’t win, your entry rolls over for the next month.

How to Qualify-

Earn entries in monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing steps on BigFuture. Log in to your account, complete steps on your dashboard, and earn entries to win. One step completed = one entry in each monthly scholarship drawing. There are scholarship drawings starting January of your sophomore year until February of your senior year.
