Throughout the year the MVHS Counseling Center receives notification for local and national scholarships in addition to specific scholarships for colleges/universities.

Psi Iota Xi Music Scholarship

For the purpose of stimulating musical talent, the Alpha Phi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority is pleased to award a scholarship to an outstanding senior of MVHS.  Any student who meets the qualifications may apply; a music major is not required.

Applications are due to Ms. Roach in the counseling center by 3:30pm on April 4, 2025.

Indiana Oil & Gas Association Scholarship

In 2024, INOGA awarded $15,000 in scholarships to students who were attending four-year colleges and pursuing degrees in the oil & gas career path.  Career paths include working in the following sectors:  pipeline, refinery, land acquistion, service, supply, legal, engineering and geologic services.

Genevieve Roberts Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for a student to further their education.  The scholarship is awarded based on various criteria that reflect the values and purposes of Hancock County Farm Bureau Inc. and recognized excellence in community affairs and citizenship activities.  Please provide sufficient details and information about your qualifications to give the judges a clear picture of your future plans.

Applications are due to the Farm Bureau Insurance office via email at brooke.lane@infarmbureau.com by March 1, 2025.

Hancock County Farm Bureau Scholarship

The Hancock County Farm Bureau scholarship was established to support local youth who have been active participants in 4-H, FFA, their community and are entering an AG related field of study. Two chosen winners will be awarded a $1000 scholarship to be used in furthering their education. 

All applicants must have their completed application emailed to brooke.lane@infarmbureau.com no later than March 1, 2025.

McCordsville Police Department Scholarship 

This scholarship is available to all Mt. Vernon High School current seniors or graduate students wanting to study a field within criminal justice/public safety. Read and follow the instructions carefully prior to submitting your application. All winners will be notified on or before April 26, 2025. Three scholarships are available totaling $2,000. One $1,000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships.

Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship

Students who are Indiana residents and committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field at an Indiana college or university may apply for this scholarship.  Additionally, applicants must be a current member of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association.  If you do not meet the membership requirement, an application for membership is attached to this application.

Hancock Health Foundation Scholarships

The Hancock Health Foundation offers scholarship for a variety of healthcare professions.  We believe an important part of our mission is to provide opportunities for students to achieve their professional goals in healthcare and wellness.

Student-View Scholarship

The 2025 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering over $13,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school.  All Indiana seniors who apply for the Student-View Scholarship will also be automatically be entered into the drawing for the new $500 Indiana Senior Scholarship.  

The application process is simple and requires on 15-20 minutes. No minimum SAT/ACT scores or GPA, no essay.

NineStar Scholarship

To support graduating seniors in their pursuit of higher education, NineStar Connect will be awarding fifteen $2000 scholarships. Whether you are planning to attend a university or trade school, these scholarships are designed to help you achieve your goals.

Eligibility:  

  • Graduating senior must live in a NineStar customer household
  • The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale

Application Deadline:  February 7, 2025

People Helping People Scholarship

We are offering our “People Helping People” Scholarships once again this year.  In 2025, EIFCU will award a $1,500 scholarship to one high school senior and a $1,500 scholarship to one continuing education student. The scholarship may be used by a student pursuing either an undergraduate degree or a certification at an accredited college/university/trade school.

Greenfield Area Soccer Club Scholarship

Greenfield Area Soccer Club has a scholarship available for graduating students of Hancock County who are presently a club member or have been in the past.  Students must put money towards an education at a college/university, trade or technical school. Special consideration will go to applicants who participated in recreational soccer at GASC for a minimum of 2 years/4 seasons.

Tri Kappa Scholarship

The Greenfield Upsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa, a service sorority, is seeking Hancock County applicants for local scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year.  Please submit by the application deadline of March 31, 2025.

A total of $5000 in scholarships will be awarded.  Eligibility criteria include:

     a) Enrollment full time a a senior at one of the four Hancock County high

         schools with plans to graduate in Spring 2025

     b) US citizen and a resident of Indiana within the jurisdiction of the Greenfield

         Upsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa

TUBC Scholarship

The Tricoci University offers a scholarship opportunity for recent high school graduates.  One applicant per Tricoci University campus will be rewarded $3,500 to help fund their Tricoci education and come closer to becoming a licensed professional in the beauty industry. Application deadline is no later than 11:59pm CT on March 31, 2025. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2025.

Summit Salon Academy “Get Inspire” Scholarship

Students planning a career in the beauty industry can apply for scholarships at Summit Academy that would cover $3000 of your tuition. Applications are due by April 30, 2024 and are awarded for the July 14, 2025 Cosmetology Course.

The Community Foundation of Hancock County Scholarships

The CFHC Scholarships are LIVE! Don't wait to apply! The deadline to apply and have all materials submitted is February 7th, 2025 at 4pm. (You must add your counselor to your account. Counselors will add GPA's once 2nd quarter grades are finalized in January).

Foundation 649 Scholarship for AAPI

Asian American and Pacific Islander students are eligible to apply to this scholarship.  Five recipients will be announced by April 15, 2025 and each recipient will receive $1000 annually for 4 years.  The award must be renewed each year to receive successive funds.

Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications for this scholarship which provides up to $40,000 of financial support for aspiring teachers.

 

High-achieving high school students who plan to teach in Indiana for at least five years can receive up to $10,000 per year of college (up to $40,000 total) from the scholarship. Find additional requirements here. Priority will be given to students graduating high school, although current college freshmen and sophomore students are eligible to apply.

 

Applications are submitted through ScholarTrack and will be accepted until January 31, 2025. To access the application, follow these steps:

 

1. Log in to ScholarTrack

2. Click “State Aid Resources”

3. Select “Apply for State Aid”

4. Scroll down and click “Financial Aid for Future Educators”

5. Select “Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship”

6. Click “Apply”

Knight of Pythias Scholarship

Seniors with a 3.0 or higher may apply for this scholarship and there are 30- $1,000 scholarships available! For more information about the Indiana Knights of Pythias, please see their website hereThe deadline for submission is January 31, 2025.  Please email indianaglkop@att.net if you have questions about this scholarship.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, goal-driven students.  The goal of the scholarship is to help students with financial need graduate college debt-free. Application deadline is March 15, 2025

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $35,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities.  In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF's annual multi-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference."  Applications are due by 5pm on January 9, 2025.

The Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling is proud to announce applications for 2025-2026 scholarship are now being accepted through January 10, 2025.  This application is open to high school seniors that are planning to enter an Indiana College or University.  For more information, please see their website here.

Jack and Bev Falkenberg Memorial Scholarship

The Falkenbergs were huge supporters of Mt. Vernon students for nearly 48 years.  Their sons and daughter set up a scholarship in memory of Jack and Bev in 2022.  A winner will be awarded a one-time $1000 scholarship.  This scholarship application is due by Monday, December 16, 2024 and should be emailed to dean.falkenberg@mvcsc.k12.in.us.

Louie's Tux Shop Model Search Scholarship

Louie's Tux Shop will be sponsoring their 12th annual statewide Model Search this fall.  They bring together a local cast comprising of twenty (20) students and at the completion of the shoot, two students will receive a $1,000.00 college scholarship.  Ten students will be chosen by their peers along with another 10 students that will be chosen by a selection committee.  All photo shoot participants will be featured in our prom promotions in the spring and all students have an equal chance at winning scholarships.

Anderson University Visit Scholarship

Students who schedule an official on-campus visit with an admissions counselor and then enroll as a full-time student will receive $1,000 per year for four years.

 


 

Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship of up to $2,500 for college or post-secondary technical schooling is awarded to an Indiana High School Senior(s) whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer.
