Students Want to be at Mt. Vernon...
I Live in the District
Parents/Guardians of Current MV Students Living in the District
Living within the district boundaries (Vernon & Buck Creek Townships) enables students to automatically attend Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) schools.
Parents/guardians of current MV students living in the district should access their Skyward Family Access in mid-July and register each student before school starts. All parents/guardians (listed as Family 1 in Skyward) need to register each returning student.
Children who have not attained the age of five (5) by August 1st shall not be eligible for entrance into the kindergarten program, nor shall a child who is not six (6) years old be eligible for entrance into first grade, unless the parents submit an appeal.

After applying, out-of-district/transfer students will receive an email confirmations in June if they are accepted to attend MV in the 2023-2024 school year. After receiving the acceptance notification in June, please register your student. If you have questions, please contact Jean Wuerch at 317-485-3100 or jean.wuerch@mvcsc.k12.in.us.
Please note that McCordsville Elementary, Mt. Vernon Middle School, Mini-Marauder Preschool, the fifth grade in Fortville Elementary and the fifth grade in Mt. Guidelines For All Out-of-District / Transfer Applications
- All applications must be submitted online before the application windows close in the spring.
- Applications are only for one school year, must be filled out for each child, and must be re-submitted each year.
- All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- It is possible that NOT all applications will be approved due to several considerations, including building capacity and class size.
- Employees' children and current transfer students (and their siblings) will have priority when reviewing applications.
- By submitting an application, parents agree to provide their own transportation to and from school for the duration of the school year or adhere to the assigned bus stop.
